Lyrics Part 1: You Belong to Me
Now i don’t normally listen to the radio but sometimes it a nice change. But recently listening to the radio has gotten kind of annoying. And i blame it on the poorly thought out lyrics of Taylor Swift. I mean ill grant that shes pretty good based upon illegal downloads record sales and her popularity among youth today but i still got a problem, specifically with 2 of her songs that are always on the radio.
The first of them is “You Belong to Me”
There’s a line in the song that says “But she wears short skirts, I wear t-shirts” and this is used to describe differences in the love interests current girlfriend and the singer. and then BOOM logic flaw.
1. Short skirts and t-shirts are different articles of clothing covering different parts of the body and therefore are incomparable due to lack in commonality.
Ex. skirt is to shorts as t-shirt is to blouse
2. She may defiantly wear short skirts but can also wear t-shirts. I do not believe it to be a fashion faux pas.
